It is the vision of Waypoint Theatre Company to uplift and glorify God through the expressive and interpretive medium of theatre arts.

- challenge and inspire audiences and participants to see God’s grace through Christ
- equip artists through encouragement and development of skills
It is our desire to foster an encouraging environment where individuals can uniquely blend and enrich their Christian faith with artistic gifts.
Our History
Over thirty years ago in college, Artistic Director Melanie David was passionate about the vision of combining theatre and her faith. With years of training and experience in acting, directing and teaching in both secular theatre and theatre ministries, her vision for celebrating the joys of faith and family through quality, faith-based theatre is as vibrant as ever!
Waypoint began as an off shoot of the theatre ministry outreach at Catalina Foothills Church in Tucson 11 years ago, of which Melanie David was the director. Several productions and six years later, a core group of committed believer artists actively pursued the opportunity of becoming a non-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) live theatre organization that serves the southern Arizona community by producing quality, thought-provoking theatre that celebrates the joys of faith and family.
Today, there are 34 believer artist members represented by eight evangelical churches, with ages ranging from 10 to 84 years of age. There are three outreach “arms” with Waypoint’s productions that include main stage shows at Atria, educational outreach to schools/civic clubs, and Waypoint’s Journeys In Faith series, featuring small touring casts that perform a biblical/missions-themed piece specifically for church audiences.
We are always interested in auditioning committed Christian theatre artists that have a heart and passion for pursuing excellence in live theatre together with sharing their offstage talent and support.
