“The Screwtape Letters is just about everything you want in a night at the theatre...THOUGHT-PROVOKING, ENGAGING, ENTERTAINING, INTELLIGENT, BITINGLY SATIRICAL and FUNNY exploration of profound issues of right and wrong.”—Daniel Kelley, NYTheatre.com

Entertaining, intelligent and wickedly funny- The Screwtape Letters is a theatrically rich adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ most popular and influential novel about spiritual warfare from a demon’s point of view. In an inverted moral universe set in academia hell, God is called the “Enemy” and the devil is referred to as “Our Father below”. The play follows the clever, scheming, high level demon, Screwtape, in his attempts to educate inexperienced tempters like Wormwood on various methods of undermining faith and promoting sin with the “Subject”. Comic and thought-provoking observations on human nature and Christian doctrine challenge and change our ideas of good and evil.

CHRISTMAS MIRACLE ON MAIN STREET:
A Small Town Radio Play

Based on a play by Greg Oliver Bodine and story by Valentine Davies
December 8 – 12, 2010
Friends & Family/Preview: Thursday, December 9 at 7pm

It’s Christmas Eve in America’s heartland and radio host Bjorn Gundlarrsen is preparing for the live, telethon performance, Miracle On 34th Street, that will keep the tiny polka station afloat. Unfortunately, the prize troupe of off-Broadway actors he’s hired have all fallen ill to a dastardly combination of indigestible pork rinds and lutefisk! With time running out Bjorn enlists the reluctant small crew at the station to perform all the roles. Can the show be saved in time? After all, it’s not like Christmas is known for miracles…

In this cleverly comical play within-a-play featuring the beloved family Christmas classic, a few costumed actors portray all the characters with live, Foley sound effects and hilarious commercials set in a small town radio station on Christmas Eve. Lots of favorite Christmas vocal classics will be served up with mouth-watering dessert and drinks during the pre-show. Singing telegrams will also be available upon request.
